Fools Haven Thatched Cottage - Carrickfergus, Antrim

Fools Haven Thatched Cottage is a gorgeous cottage, over 250 years old located at the start of the world famous route to the Causeway Coast and Antrim Glens.

Fools Haven sleeps 5 people - with 2 double bedrooms and a single bedroom. The cottage has been lovingly maintained and furnished to a very high standard. The cottage is surprisingly spacious and there is a private garden and patio area outside. We love to give our visitors a warm welcome which is why you will be provided with a Complimentary Welcome Tray on arrival.  Included on the Welcome Tray is home prepared and locally sourced produce for you to enjoy.

The cottage is located opposite the Andrew Jackson Cottage and US Rangers Centre, a traditional thatched Ulster –Scots farmhouse built in 1750’s on the shores of Belfast Lough. The centre has an impressive display on the life and career of the 7th President of the USA Andrew Jackson (1767- 1845), whose parents emigrated from here in 1765.

The town of Carrickfergus with its historic castle, restaurants and leisure facilities is less than 2 miles from the cottage. It is only a 5 minutes walk to the train, bus, post office and local shops.

The famous Causeway Coastal Route takes you on a dramatic scenic journey along 80 miles of stunning coastline past rugged windswept cliffs, spectacular scenery and fabulous unspoilt beaches dotted with historic castles, churches and forts.

Fools Haven is a wonderful Irish cottage on the edge of an area of outstanding natural beauty where you will be warmly welcomed.
