Portbraddan Cottage is located in the tiny quaint fishing village of Portbraddan, nestled under the cliff at the western end of the stunning Whitepark Bay on the famous North Coast of Antrim.
The area is very desirable as the views from the cottage are outstanding. The semi-detached self-catering holiday home overlooks the pretty sheltered harbour and the beautiful long golden sandy beach and dunes. Rathlin Island can be seen in the distance and the area is certainly a haven of tranquility. The little village and bay is one of the most photographed and painted images of scenic landscape in Northern Ireland.
The holiday cottage has 3 bedrooms to sleep 6 people, including a double bed and two rooms with twin beds. It is superbly furnished with quality decor and linen. There is a television and DVD player provided, but there is no television reception, perfect for the ultimate get-away-from-it-all holiday. The garden is enclosed and considered a very rare example of an excellent Irish coastal cottage garden with native coastal plants.
Portbraddan means port of the Salmon. The original Salmon fishery still exists there today. There is a beautiful half moon shaped beach next to the village set against a backdrop of cliffs and sand dunes which is a designated area of scientific interest. It is important to note the beach can contain rip currents so be aware before swimming or surfing.
Portbraddan is a perfect base for exploring the beautiful North Coast of Antrim which is home to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Giant's Causeway and the famous Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge. Other attractions include The Glens of Antrim, featuring nine gorgeous glens and villages, a botanists delight with waterfalls, riverside paths, woods and forest parks. Stop by the oldest whiskey distillery in the world at Bushmills and sample some of the famous water of life.
This part of Northern Ireland coastline offers exceptional scenery and tremendous views reaching all the way to the Scottish Isles. Portbraddan Cottage is a very special self catering holiday home in an exceptional unique beauty spot.

Portbraddan Cottage lies in the sleepy fishing village of Portbraddan, at one end of the stunning White Park Bay on the North Coast of County Antrim. It is one of the most photographed areas in Northern Ireland. If travelling from Bushmills, take the A2 Road to Ballycastle. Drive past the signs to the Giant's Causeway through Lisnagunagh village. Approximately 5 miles past the village, you will enter a small hamlet with a Maxol petrol station on the right. Directly opposite the petrol station is a sign for Portbraddan. Head down a steep hairpin road and Portbraddan Cottage is the fourth house along the road. Look for the sign on the gate saying The National Trust.Changeover Day: Friday
