Six miles long and 1 mile wide, this beautiful island of Rathlin is accessible by a six mile ferry ride across the Sea of Moyle from the town of Ballycastle. The Boathouse on the harbour provides an opportunity to learn about the the island's history and view artifacts form shipwrecks.

A colony of seals live in nearby Mill Bay. Birdwatchers will love the RSPB bird sanctuary on the west side of the island where puffins, guillemts, raxorbills and kittyhawks can be seen in summer. Accomodation, a pub and restaurant make longer stays possible.
