Historic Carlow Town has an interesting mixture of heritage sites and trendy restaurants and pubs. The best way to see Carlow is explore  the winding streets, the Cathedral, Castle, and the Courthouse on foot. The ten day Arts Festival in mid June is the best time to visit. We recommend an evening at The Little Theatre. Carlow Town is an ideal base to visit the rest of this charming little county. There are excellent bus connections with Dublin, Cork and Waterford .
