The lively tourist town of Kilkee is well known for its wide beach and diving centre. The protected beach has a reputation for safe bathing and has blue flag status. St Georges Head nearby has some excellent walking trails. The Scenic Loop to the south of Kilkee is a stunning 10 km trail around the coast with spectacular views. The West Clare Railway runs from Ennis to Kilkee.
