The thousand acres of woodland at Blarney Castle and of course the world famous Blarney Stone offer a great reason to visit this well preserved village just eight km from Cork City.
More than 300,000 people come to kiss the Blarney Stone each year, in the hopes of gaining more eloquent speech. The Castle that visitors see today was constructed in 1446, but the history of the place goes back two centuries before that time. The story begins with a magical stone, its origins shrouded in mystery.
Blarney Woolen Mills are well worth a visit. This beautiful wood landscape is also enjoyed by walkers, hikers and golfers. There are a number of good quality houses and apartments available for visitors.
