Seagull Cottage is a haven of peace and tranquillity in an area of breathtaking beauty near one of the most beautiful bays in Europe, Roaring Water Bay, surrounded by crystal-clear water heated by the Gulf Stream.

The 3 bedroomed cottage was lovingly created from the milking parlour and potato store of J P Collins's old farm. It is a conservationists delight with eco friendly construction, highly insulated walls and the most efficient double glazing available to compliment the geo-thermal under-floor heating system that also heats hot water. The cottage has a warmth and charm that will strike you as soon you step inside. The living room is airy yet cosy where you can relax with views out of every window. As you walk into the spacious fitted kitchen and dining area you will be struck by the open space  and luxury to suit the most discerning taste.

The cottage is situated on the Traharta or strand, a stunning area opposite the privately owned Horse Island at the entrance to Castletownshend Harbour. This unspoilt coastline has excellent safe beaches, ideal for children and for those who like to relax and get away from it all. Take a walk around cliff tops above Loch Hyne or explore Knock Drum, an Iron Age Fort above the town. Treat yourself to tantalizing seafood dishes, specialities of the area in many of the superb restaurants and bars.

Visit some of the interesting archaeological sites, including ancient copper mines, stone tumuli and stone circles of Dromberg which is just a short drive away. Have a game of golf in Baltimore just 25 kilometers away and take a trip to Cape Clear and Sherkin Islands. Take a scenic drive to the picturesque resort of Schull, 32 kilometers away where you you can windsurf, sail dinghies, kayaks or go scuba diving. The waters off Schull are filled throughout the summertime with dolphins, seals, whales and sharks perfect for seeing nature at its best.

The wonderful delights of Bantry, the Beara Peninsula, Glengarriff, Garnish Island, Kenmare and the Ring of Kerry all within easy reach by car.
