West Tower Apartment is on the ground floor of with a private entrance opening into a hallway leading to the centrally heated and spacious accommodation. The living room is bright and airy with a beautiful view over the sea and an open fireplace where you can snuggle for a while and let the atmosphere fill yor mind. The delightful bedroom with en suite and panelled doors will guarantee a peaceful night’s rest in your own secure sanctuary. The fully equipped kitchen will enable you to hone your culinary skills with a selection of fresh fish available in the area.
Located in the West Tower of Castle Townshend originally built by Richard Townshend in the17th century and owned by the Cochrane-Townshend family, direct descendants of the original owners. The castle is in the picturesque village of Castletownshend and is a beautiful bed and breakfast where you can avail of extra bedrooms is required. There are other self catering options available in the castle if you prefer traditional regal accommodation.
The Castle is built beside a pretty harbour where visitors can enjoy safe sailing, kayaking and fishing or you can take a boat ride to see whales, dolphins, sharks or seals in their natural habitat. Just 50 metres from the house you can treat yourself in Mary Ann’s pub and restaurant, well known for excellent cuisine while a village shop nearby will meet your basic needs. The bustling market town of Skibbereen with good shopping and excellent restaurants is just 8 kilometres away and is home to a first class 18 hole golf course. A short scenic drive will take you to Baltimore, a lovely fishing village and sailing centre where you can get the ferry to Sherkin Island and Cape Clear (Gaelic speaking).
The deepest salt water lake and nature reserve in Europe, Lough Hyne, is just a short drive and from here the views across the islands to the famous Fastnet are breathtaking. A scenic 30 kilometre drive away lies the picturesque resort of Schull where you can enjoy all it has to offer including excellent shopping and dining or whale and dolphin watching trips in summer.

Check-in time is between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. unless otherwise arranged, and departure time is by 11 a.m.. We request the house to be left clean and tidy ready for the next tenants. If extra cleaning is required, this may be arranged for an extra charge.
A charge is also made for any breakages during tenancy.
