Ardogeena Cottage is a stunning open plan modern cottage near the village of Durrus and near the famous Barley Cove beach.

The cottage has 1 bedroom and sleeps 4 people comfortably. There is a large bedroom with a 6ft bed with its luxury memory foam mattress ensuring a good night's sleep. The landing upstairs has a 3ft single bed and a double futon. Two Z beds are also available if required. The cottage exudes space with its contemporary design and furnishings. It boasts a private courtyard decorated with beautiful flowers where you can enjoy the long summer evenings while cooking a family barbecue. The detached cottage is located on the grounds of the owners' home with its own natural pond, a climbing wall, slide and swings for children to play.

Durrus village is only half a mile from the cottage and provides an excellent grocery store, four bustling pubs, three of which serve food, and two restaurants. The village is situated at the head of the amazing Sheeps Head and Mizen Head Peninsulas with their isolated coves, wild beaches, famous walks and cycle routes.

Bantry is a fantastic town steeped in ancient history, set amid splendid scenery with world-class golf and sumptous cuisine. The main attraction is the stately home, Bantry House which overlooks Bantry Bay. The house and Gardens are open to visitors and it is also home to an exhibition of the 1796 French Armada.

There is so much to see and do in this beautiful part of Ireland. Take a boat trip from Schull to Cape Clear Island, go whale watching, watch the seals, explore the West Cork Garden Trail, observe the animals at Fota Wildlife Park or take a city bus tour around Cork.

Ardogeena Cottage is a great base to explore the wonderful sights of Cork and a great home where you can relax after your long days discovering South West Ireland.

Additional Information About Rental Rates

Electricity included and full gas central heating, if required, together with pellets for the stove.

Pets very welcome, however they are to be restricted to the downstairs and kept off the furniture, please. They MUST NOT be left unattended at any time.

The cottage is equipped with Wifi and there is an Epad available should you forget your lap top.

Bikes are available for hire.

Daisy, our 17 year old granddaughter will dog sit (€5 per hour) or baby sit (€7.50) should you fancy going out alone.

Booking Conditions

Arrival can be any time after 2pm but departure must be by 10am so that the cottage can be made ready for our next visitors.

Rental can be paid in either Euro (€) or Sterling (£) We also now accept Paypal, however there is a small charge for using this, but this is only what Paypal charge me.

50% deposit is required at the time of booking with the balance due 6 weeks before commencement of your holiday.

A €50 (£50) Cleaning Deposit is payable with the final balance however this will be returned, in full, provided that the cottage is left in a satisfactory condition.

Short breaks are available from November to March. A 2 night break is €170 (£160), extra nights at €40 (£35) per night. (Excluding Christmas, New Year and Easter).

10% reduction on a two week booking, October-April inclusive. 10% reduction for returning visitors.

The cottage will be thoroughly cleaned at the end of your stay but we do ask that you leave it in a satisfactory condition.

A €50/£50 cleaning deposit is to be paid with your final balance. This will be refunded within 7 days providing that extra cleaning costs are not incurred.
