There are kayaks available and these can be launched on the property into a shallow protected area of Glengarriff Harbour, home to the largest seal population in Ireland.
The house is located 1km from the famous village of Glengarriff with charming local craft shops. Treat yourself to some of the excellent cuisine available in a choice of restaurants or visit one of the eight traditional Irish pubs all offering complimentary traditional entertainment at night. Take a boat trip from the harbour to world famous Garnish Island and explore its tropical gardens heated by the effects of the gulf stream. Have a walk through one of the three nature reserves or a leisurely game of golf on one of five courses all accessible within 20 kilometres. For the fishing enthusiast, try your hand at sea, shore or river fishing. Just a short drive to the east is Bantry where you can visit the famous Bantry House, a large Georgian mansion renowned throughout the world for its collection of art or visit the French Invasion Centre or Kilnaruane Carved Pillar Stone a monument of early Christian times. Castletownbere, an international fishing port and the second largest natural harbour in Ireland is only 20 km away and there you can visit Bere Island by car ferry where you will find archaeological sites dating back to the Bronze Age or take a ride on Ireland’s only cable car to Dursey Island.

As well as all the mentioned facilities we also have a 13 ft. trampoline, two (two man) kayaks and a large barbeque. Although there are wet suits in the house they are not for use by the guests who are requested to supply their own. The children's toy room is also fully stocked with toys for all ages and the book shelves are stocked with a large variety of books, videos and DVDs. The stereo system works with i-pod players only.

Please note we require a security deposit of €500. This will be refunded by post or transfer after you have vacated the house and the staff have inspected and prepared the house for the next guest. This usually takes about two days.
