Derrybeg is located in the Gaeltacht region amongst the lake-studded coastal landscape of West Donegal. There are daily cruises to Gola Island and Tory Island. The area enjoys rich tranquil scenery ideal for hill-walkers, artists, writers, anglers or those who simply want to get away from it all.

The villagers gather in the local pubs in the evenings to enjoy the live traditional music. The area is famous for the music artists who come from the area – Enya, Clannad and Altan.
