TOWNS AND VILLAGES IN DONEGAL
Annagry (3)
Dungloe is officially known as An Clochán Liath in Irish and this is what you see on the signage as you approach the town. The town takes its name from the stepping stones that crossed the river before the bridge was built in 1762.
The town is famous for its international “Mary from Dungloe” festival which attracts many visitors for the ten day event every Summer. The area is an important angling location and is popular for salmon and trout fishing on Dungloe River and Dungloe Lough.
It is a lively spot providing ample services for tourists visiting the area and self catering Dungloe. There are plenty of sandy beaches and plenty of activities for the enthusiastic. There are a few golf courses nearby, a surfing school and many routes for walkers and cyclists.
