Guth Na Mara is a beautiful holiday home with sea views in the delightful village of Gortahork in the Irish speaking Gaeltacht area of Donegal.

This 3 storey self-catering holiday home is located next to the Óstán Loch Altan Hotel. The accommodation is very spacious with 5 bedrooms to sleep 12 people. It is very modern and tastefully furnished, ideal for large families or groups. There is a private courtyard and an upstairs balcony with stunning views of Ballyness Bay.

Gortahork is a peaceful little village in a beautiful part of Donegal with many scenic attractions nearby. The village has a hotel, restaurants, bar, grocery stores and post office. The busy market town Falcarragh is only 5 minutes away and the charming village of Dunfanaghy is only 10 minutes away. The area is surrounded with beautiful golden sandy beaches and stunning coastal scenic drives.

Take a boat trip from pretty Magheroarty pier to Tory Island or from Bunbeg to Inishbofin. These islands are very popular with birdwatchers. Visit the Weavers Cottage and the pet farm at Dunlewey Visitors Centre.

A trip to Donegal is not complete without visiting the splendid Glenveagh National Park with its herd of red deer and Golden Eagles. Take a tour of the famous Glenveagh Castle and gardens. Walkers, hikers and cyclists will love Muckish, Errigal and the Derryveagh monutains, which are all rewarding challenges! There are also many lakes making it a haven for anglers.

Golfers have plenty of choice with courses at Dunfanaghy, Falcarragh, Gweedore and there is a championship links at Rosapenna in Downings.

If Driving from Dublin, travel on the M1 route via Monaghan, Omagh, Lifford, Letterkenny through to Gortahork. The last part of the drive is very scenic as you exit Letterkenny. Take the coastal route via Kilmacrennan or the mountain route which passes Glenveagh National Park and the Poison Glen. Donegal Airport is only a short 20 minute drive. Flights daily from Donegal (Carrickfinn) Derry International, Glasgow, Dublin, Galway.

Safety is paramount - guests are asked to smoke only outside the property and parents should take special care of small children as there are two staircases and a kitchen balcony.

A Cot is provided.

Private garden at the rear.

Booking Conditions

Non-refundable deposit of €200 euros (£150) secures your booking. The balance is payable 4 weeks in advance of your stay.

A refundable Security Deposit is required for release of keys. This is returned to you at the end of your stay once the property is left undamaged and clean. 99% of all clients are excellent and there are usually no disputes on this matter.

Arrival time is usually 4pm and departure time is no later than midday.
