Knockalla Coastguard Cottages are charming Donegal cottages located on the coast between Portsalon and Rathmullan with spectacular sea views.
The cottages are a group of terrace cottages with 4 bedrooms to sleep 6/8 people set on an elevated site with huge gardens reaching down to the sea. They have the most amazing views over Lough Swilly and across to the Inishowen Peninsula. Each cottage is beautifully furnished and offer a warm, cosy setting. There are stunning sea views from most of the rooms making it the ideal place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the ocean and mountains. The cottages boast huge gardens which are perfect for enjoying the summer months, ideal for families with children or pets.
Knockalla Mountains provide a stunning scenic backdrop and are very popular with hill-walkers. The ridge is known as The Devils Backbone and the views from the twin summit are incredible, looking across to Mulroy Bay and Fanad. Don't forget the camera!
Portsalon, 10 minutes away, is a wonderful seaside resort town and home to Portsalon Beach, rated as the second most beautiful beach in the world. It is also home of the brilliant coastal golf course of Portsalon Golf Club, one of the top 25 links courses in Ireland. Rathmullan is also only 10 minutes from the cottages and has a beautiful beach, a range of restaurants including fine dining, a hotel spa and both towns offer lots of activities including horse-riding, sailing, fishing, kayaking among many more.
Glenveagh National Park and Glenveagh Castle are not to be missed with bird of prey displays, traditional crafts and music provided, as well as Castle tours.

Knockalla Coastguard Cottages are located on the main coast roa between Rathmullan and Portsalon. They are only 10 minutes from each town where you will find excellent shops, pubs and restaurant. The cottages sit on an elevated site overlooking Lough Swilly and across to the Inishowen Peninsula. The Knockalla Mountains are very striking backdrop with two summits, also known locally as The Devils Backbone and are very popular with walkers. There are beautiful beaches dotted all around the local area including the famous Portsalon Beach, considered the second most beautiful beach in the world.Availability

A non-refundable Deposit of 40% of the total cost is required on booking.
Balance is payable 28 days prior to arrival date. If booking is made within 6 weeks of arrival date, full payment is required at time of booking.
