Ardglass, about 11 km from Downpatrick, is one of the three main fishing ports in Northern Ireland and has a fine harbour and marina. Fish are exported all around Europe from here. The village and surrounding area boasts 10 archaeological sites. The local golf course's club-house is in what used to be Ardglass castle built in the 14th century.
