Donaghadee lies 6 miles from Bangor and about 18 miles from Belfast. It is a small seaside village with a lighthouse and large harbour. Donaghadee has provided safe harbour since the 17th century and has a long history as a fishing port. In summer, boat trips can be taken to the Copeland Islands. There is also a pleasant marine walk in the Commons. In the village, there are fine restaurants and pubs, including Grace Neill's - the oldest pub in Ireland. There's also a local 18 hole golf course.
