The Welcome Inn in nearby Forkhill provides a friendly bar where you will receive a real Irish welcome and lively atmosphere and hear traditional Irish music every Tuesday evening and popular live bands every Saturday and Sunday.
Murphy’s Pub is also nearby where you can wine and dine in a majestic ambience with the finest cuisine.

Dublin is only 57 miles with motorway most of the way. From the main Dublin-Belfast Road at the Roundabout (south of Newry) take the road signposted to ‘Forkhill’. Travel along this road to the Village of Meigh (3 miles) at the crossroad turn left at Murphy’s pub over the railway line and take the next turn right into Foughilletra Road travel along for 2 miles and on the left hand side of the road is ‘Yew Wood Cottage’ up on the hill. In Meigh Village, there is a post office nearby with supermarket, chemist, florist, laundry and a 5 star hair and beauty salon which caters to all your needs. It is approximately 6 miles to Newry City and approx 8 miles to Dundalk for Shopping Malls. When visiting beautiful Carlingford, you can relax and enjoy a drink in Taffe’s Castle Bar.
