The Barn has been beautifully converted from 18th century stables that were originally used for working horses. Many of the original features have been lovingly retained including the stonework and red brick arches, which suggest it may also have been a home before being used as stables. The Barn has 3 bedrooms to sleep 6 people. It is very spacious with an open plan, contemporary design and mezzanine balcony floor overlooking the lounge area. The ground floor is tiled throughout making it suitable for wheelchairs users as it has a bedroom and shower room on ground level.

There is a large garden adjacent to the courtyard with breathtaking sea views over Barr Hall Bay and the Mourne Mountains in the distance. The entire area is a revered beauty spot, loved by its regular colony of seals. Strangford Lough is an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with special scientific interest and the surrounding coastline is managed by the prestigous National Trust. On your doorstep is Ballyquinton National Nature Reserve, a 64 acre farm set amid rolling drumlin countryside with stunning views across the Strangford Narrows to the Isle of Man, and the Lecale coast stretching south towards the famous Mourne Mountains.

There is so much to see and do in the area, including golfing, angling, sailing, horse-riding, walking, hiking, cycling and mountain-biking. Visit the magnificent Castle Ward Estate, the Exploris Aquarium in Portaferry, Mountstewart House and Gardens at Greyabbey, or The Saint Patrick Centre in Downpatrick. The seaside towns of Strangford and Bangor are worth a visit and the cosmopolitan city of Belfast is within easy driving distance.
