Saintfield was once a major centre for linen manufacturing and is now a conservation area in respect for its heritage. The flax mills of the early 18th century now welcome visitors to its charming tea rooms, antique shops, and restaurants. Saintfield is also renowned for Rowallane Gardens, a group of botanical gardens with an amazing variety of rare trees, shrubs, and flowers from all over the world.
