Lucan was originally a small village on the banks of the River Liffey. Today, a large town has grown up around the picturesque village, which has survived and is known for its Georgian architecture.

You can take a stroll along the pleasant valley known as Strawberry Beds. Griffeen Valley Linear Park is a gentle rolling valley park complete with a gurgling stream.
