Alder Cottage is located on the spectacular Crom Demesne located on the shores of Upper Lough Erne in County Fermanagh.
Alder Cottage is one of 7 cottages situated in the beautifully restored Old Farmyard courtyard in the heart of the Estate. The cottage is very romantic with one large double bedroom upstairs and a cosy living room with an open log fire downstairs.
The cottages have a shared picnic area beside the lake and the courtyard is surrounded by beautiful countryside and ancient woodlands. There is a visitors centre, children's play area and the Little Orchard tea-room, all within walking distance of the cottages. More restaurants can be found in the nearby towns of Lisnaksea and Newtownbutler.
Crom Estate covering 2,000 acres of waterways, woodland, parkland and historic buildings is the most important nature reserve in Northern Ireland. There are a multitude of nature trails waiting to be explored and excellent boating and fishing opportunities to provide hours of entertainment on your doorstep. There are many activities on offer in and around Upper and Lower Lough Erne. Golfers will enjoy the Lough Erne Golf Resort or the Castle Hume Golf course. The lakes are a haven for watersports enthusiasts, popular for cruising, canoeing and water-skiing.
Fermanagh is a truly beautiful destination with breathtaking lakeland scenery, fairytale castles and gorgeous country houses. The world famous UNESCO Marble Arch Caves Geopark are also very near Crom. Visit the other National Trust properties at Florence Court and Castle Coole.
