On the eastern shore of Lough Melvin, the small village of Garrison lies 5 miles south of Belleek has an outdoor pursuits centre dedicated to a myriad of outdoor activities such as golfing, fishing, hill-walking, water sports, horse-riding, cycling, camping and caving.

The lough itself is home to the Gillaroo species of trout which cannot be found anywhere else in the world. The lough also holds other trout species, and char, as well as having a good run of salmon. Accommodation and facilities are plentiful.
