The stunning scenery attracts many self catering Clifden tourists in the holiday season. Walkers will enjoy the Beach Road and the Bog Road walks which are suitable for all the family. Travelling by pony or bicycle is a great way to enjoy this wonderful natural landscape.  The Connemara Pony Show takes place in August every year.

Clifden Sea Sports Centre has an array of activities for watersports enthusiasts and Clifden Beach is one of Connemara's most beautiful sheltered sandy beaches. Painters and photographers will enjoy the marvelous ever changing light in this region and the wonderful ocean sunsets each evening. Inishbofin Island is only 9km offshore and is well worth a visit for its diving and birdlife. It is also famous as the home of 'Father Ted'.
