Dooley's Cottage is a newly refurbished traditional thatched Irish cottage in a secluded countryside location, set amid the stunning countryside of Cloonboo Beg in the heart of Co. Galway. Dating back to 1850, this romantic getaway has been lovingly and patiently restored by this generation of the family to the finest detail. Modern conveniences have been added discreetly. The thatched cottage exudes peace, tranquility, comfort and ease. Oil fired central heating. But also retains a traditional open turf fire.
An ideal romantic getaway for two. However, it can sleep up to five adults comfortably. One double room en-suite and two loft bedrooms (Due to access the loft rooms are not really suitable for young children, sorry). An ideal place to relax and unwind, or provide the perfect inspiration for idyl compositions, writers, artists and walkers.
The cottage is well equipped with all modern conveniences(washing machine/ tumble dryer/dishwasher etc.) to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Cloonboo offers the ideal location to explore all parts of Co. Galway. From the Spanish Arches in Galway to the ring fort, Dun Angus, on the Aran Islands. A pleasant 30min. drive will have you in Galway City and when you tire of the busy tourist area of Shop Street and have wined and dined in Quay Street, you'll be glad to return to your own quiet country retreat.
