County Kerry is the diamond of Ireland and the most popular Irish destination for visitors. There are so many things to see and do in the local area, suitable for all ages, golfing, horse-riding, cycling, fishing and hiking. We highly recommend a trip around Slea Head where you will be witness breathtaking natural scenic beauty. It is a great cycle route and bikes can be rented in Dingle. Be sure to stop for a swim in Couminole on the way.
The area is also renowned for boat trips. Take a boat to visit the most famous local - Fungi the Dolphin. You can also take the ferry to the Blasket Islands where you may see dolphins, basking sharks, seals and many shoaling fish.

Gorta Dubha is located between The Three Sisters and Smerwick Harbour. Ballydavid is a nearby village which you can walk to along the beach. Great for a pint in Begley's pub or TP's pub, Ballydavid. Walkers are spoiled for choice and will particularly enjoy Mount Brandon - It is a good hike to the top, so be sure you bring warm clothing, food and leave your travel plans with someone before you go. Fishing is excellent in the area, great boat and shore fishing. Cycling is a great way to explore the area, take the Slea Head route for an amazing day out. Boat Trips are a must do activity - Take the ferry to the Blasket Islands which operates in the summer from Dun Chaoin (nearby). Golfers will enjoy the stunning Dingle Golf Links The Dingle Golf Links (Ceann Sibéal) is about a half-mile from the house, and visitors are always wecome (clubs are buggies are available for rent). There are great pubs and restaurants in Ballyferriter, where you are sure to enjoy a lively session in the pub. Other recommended restaurants a little further away are at Feothanach - The Old Pier and Gorman’s Seafood Restaurant are excellent, or in Dingle where there are a lot of pubs and restaurants. The Tourist Office is located in Dingle. Weather - The climate here is heavily influenced by the Atlantic Ocean on 3 sides. This usually means that it rarely gets very hot or very cold, and it can be susceptible to misty rain, but when the sun comes out it is the most beautiful place on earth. I personally find that the forecast is generally irrelevant, and that this mystic place has a climate all of its own.Changeover Day: Saturday
