Lying 2 km north of Naas and 25 km from Dublin, Johnstown in County Kildare is an attractive village.

Of note is the late medieval ruin of the original Saint John's village church and 17th century Palmerstown House.

The Johnstown Inn occupies a location in the village that is known to have been a hostelry since the 1640's.
