The town of Graiguenamenagh in County Kilkenny lies on the border with County Carlow and is at the foot of Brandon Hill on the River Barrow.

It is historically rich, for example the medieval Duiske Abbey is one of the best preserved of it's type in Ireland. Walking and hill-climbing is particularly popular here due to the outstanding beauty of the surrounding countryside.
