In the foothills of the Slieve Bloom Mountains in County Laois, the village of Rosenallis is home to the annual summer Festival of the Mountain in which there is, amongst other things, a competition to determine the town's strongest man and woman.

The village also has a Quaker history and the Society of Friends Rosenallis Burial Ground is nearby.
