Hallowe'en Holidays

It's Carnival time in Ireland! Take a break closer to home and party at Hallowe'en.

Ireland is gearing up for the annual Halloween festivities. The countdown is on to the next holiday celebrations at the end of October. Halloween festivals take place in many counties throughout Ireland and attract a huge number of visitors who enjoy dressing up in costumes and watching the fancy dress parades.

In Meath, The Samhain Sounds Busking Festival takes place in Navan from 24th to 26th October. The three day music event will see over 50 different acts bring the spirit of Halloween alive with sound all around the town.

In Longford, the Dead of Night Carnival returns with a 2 day event. The Children's Halloween Party takes place at Mad Stones on the Athlone Road on Friday, October 30. There will be fancy dress and games. On Saturday the Dead of Night Parade takes place with dramatic fireshows, giant inflatable slides, bungee runs, buckin' bronco, carnival stalls for crafts and food.

In Derry the famous Halloween celebrations will go off with a bang as the fantastic fireworks show takes pace over the River Foyle. The Banks of the Foyle Festival in Derry is one of the largest in Ireland with visitors coming from all over Europe. There is a full calendar of events for all ages day and night from Friday 30th October to Sunday 1st November.

The Hallowe'en Carnival Parade on Saturday night is the highlight of the weekend where you can marvel at the colourful costumes, magnificent giant carnival characters, creative puppets and dance along to the carnival performance and enthusiastic Samba and Marching Bands. A full schedule of events is available on the Carnival website. Check out our self catering accommodation available in Derry City for your Hallowe'en Holiday!

Have a spooky Hallowe'en!
