Summer Festival Meeting 2010 - Monday 26th July to Sunday August 1st
The Galway Races is one of the most famous racing meets in Ireland attracting a quarter of a million visitors from around the world. The Galway Summer Festival which runs at the end of July, includes 51 races with race times varied between late afternoon and evening to give as much flexibilty to punters.
The famous Galway Plate is presented at the Blue Riband Race which takes place on Wednesday, the third day of the meeting. This race attracts by far the most media attention and certainly much of the Galway Festival betting. The Galway Handicap Hurdle is another race that attracts significant betting and it takes place on the fourth day of the festival.
Galway Festival Ladies Day takes place on the fourth day of the Festival, is certainly one of the most glamorous and attracts national media coverage.
The Galway Races promises a wonderful week of thrilling excitement, colourful glamour and fun-packed action very unique to Galway.
