Photos and Description of this holiday home in County Limerick

Glenview Lodge, is a gorgeous 18th century Irish farmhouse in a rural tranquil setting surrounded by mature gardens including some 200 year old beech trees.

The lodge was lovingly restored in 2005 and offers a high standard of modern self catering accommodation, while staying true to the traditional character of the original building. Inside, the cottage oozes with rustic charm sporting a host of traditional features such as a log stove complete with bellows and crane, and an Irish kitchen dresser. Patio doors from the living room lead out to a fabulous terrace area for enjoying those relaxing summer evenings by the barbeque. The gardens and neighbouring countryside are simply tantalising. If you appreciate the sights and sounds of the country you will love this house which is part of our small family farm where hay and silage are harvested during the year.

The house is located 2km from the village of Broadford and 4km form the Cork county border. Nestling at the foothills of the Mullaghareirk Mountains, Broadford, meaning mouth of the River Ford, is home to several shops, restaurants, and pubs. It is also a great starting point for the Mullaghareirk Mountain walking trails, pre-mapped journies through open farmland, forest paths and country roads, a must for any keen hiker. And don’t forget to visit the Arboretum, an extensive botanical garden filled with native trees and shrubs.

Nearby Newcastle West has a 15th century castle, a successor to the original castle built by the Knights Templar in 1184. Also close by is Ireland’s most picturesque village, Adare. We are the ideal base for golf, equestrian, angling and touring Cork,Limerick,Kerry,Clare, and Tipperary.

Glenview Lodge is truly a very special authentic Irish farmhouse full of character, a hidden gem, perfect for those seeking a private paradise off the beaten track and ideal for touring the south and west of Ireland.
