Nestled at the foothills of the Mountains, Ballyorgan is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, surrounded by undulating hills, lush forests, and meandering rivers, all waiting to be explored. The Mountain Bike Trails are the largest trail network of its kind in Ireland and offer many great options for off-road cycling in the mountains. Forest road climbs lead to tight twisty single tracks with loads of ups and downs, tight turns and technical rocky bits. The trails range from a moderate 6 km Greenwood loop, to the demanding 50 km Castlepook loop.

The forest is a haven for wildlife with grey squirrels and peregrine falcons as your neighbours. There are quite a few visitor farms and pet farms where children will enjoy playing with the animals. The area is rich in history, a trip to the historic town of Kilmallock with its medieval walls is highly recommended, as is a day out at Lough Gur, one of Ireland's most important archaeological sites. Many shops, pubs, and restaurants can be found in the village of Kilfinane, only 5km north.
