Flemingstown Lodge is luxurious self catering accommodation set in the grounds of a beautiful country house near Killmallock in County Limerick.
This stunning 2 bedroom lodge is a new development, yet manages to look as grand as the Country House it sits beside. The interior of the lodge is equally as impressive as the exterior. A large open plan living room, featuring grand arches, polished oak floors, and the finest country antiques, is the perfect mix of contemporary style and yesteryear bourgeoisie. Large casement windows fill the room with fantastic natural light, creating a real sense of space and calm, perfect for relaxation after a long day of sight seeing and exploring. The beautiful wooden floors continue under the feature archway into the fully fitted modern kitchen, which boasts beautiful wooden cabinets and a dining table with seating for 4 people. The bedrooms are just as luxurious, featuring king size beds or twin beds, depending on the requirements of the guests. The beds have the best mattresses offering maximum comfort, Down Filled Duvets and are draped with the finest Irish linen. Natural light fills the rooms due to the wonderful casement windows.
The lodge is part of the award winning Flemingstown House, an exquisite Country House voted one of the top ten best places to stay in Ireland in 2009. The owners pride themselves in offering the very best of Irish traditional hospitality where guests are welcomed as family and friends.
The lodge is surrounded by large private gardens with panoramic views of the breathtaking Ballyhoura Mountains, a haven of beauty and tranquillity in the Golden Vale region, famous for its lush green pasturelands and majestic hills. The gardens have several seating spots to take in this magical view and breathe the fresh mountain air. There is also a wonderful patio for barbeques and relaxing with a glass of wine in the evening.
The area is well renowned for its wealth of leisure activities including clay pigeon shooting, hiking on the Ballyhoura Trails, and mountain biking on the famous Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trails. The area is steeped in history. Only 2 miles from the lodge is the medieval walled town of Kilmallock, where traces of human settlement can be found dating back to 3000 BC. This is also the home of the famous eighteenth century poet Andrias Mac Craith and the house where he died still stands, near the River Loobagh. The Foynes Flying Boat Museum, where a full-size replica flying boat can be seen, is also well worth a visit.
Flemingstown Lodge is romantic luxury and peace unrivalled for families or couples looking for an amazing holiday experience in a beautiful part of Ireland.
