Coleraine is a fairly large town on the banks of the River Bann, only a few miles from Portstewart and the Causeway Coast, a great base for self catering Northern Ireland.

Home to the University of Ulster, the town offers the ancient site of 7000 year old Mount Sandel Fort which some feel may be the oldest human settlement in Ireland. The fort can be accessed by visiting Mountsandel Forest.
