Dundalk is the county town of County Louth is near the River Farne which offers good salmon and trout fishing. There is an 18 hole golf course in the area at Blackrock and it's possible to arrange horse-riding locally.

Dundalk also hosts an International Theatre festival each year and the famous Irish music family "The Corrs" hail from here.
