The town of Kells is well known for the Abbey of Kells which once housed the famous Book of Kells (an illuminated manuscript containing the four gospels of the New Testament which is now in Trinity College in Dublin).

The 9th century abbey and it's five celtic crosses can still be visited. Kells is 16 km from Navan and 65 km from Dublin.
