Navan is the county town of Meath and lies 16 miles west of Drogheda. The town is convenient to the Boyne and Blackwater rivers. The James Bond actor pierce Brosnan had his childhood home here.

The town is near the historic sites of The Hill of Tara, Bective Abbey and Slane Castle and is well equipped with sporting facilities, restaurants, bars and accommodation.
