Decoy Country Cottages are only a 5 minute drive from the village of Skreen and 4 miles from Navan in County Meath. These 4* star self-catering cottages are winners of the prestigious Meath Tourism Awards, 2008.
There are 8 luxurious cottages set in a courtyard style entrance, ranging from 1-4 bedrooms to sleep 2-8 people. Each cottage has a country house feel with all the convenience of modern living. They are beautifully furnished with solid oak furniture, oak floors, pocket sprung beds, feather duvets and crisp white linen. There is geothermal underfloor heating throughout and a multi fuel stove to guarantee your comfort at any time of the year.
The cottages are ideal for families with a playground, BBQ picnic area, a boules alley, pool table, air hockey table and gym - everything you need to entertain all ages. We also have a new Spa on site where you can relax and get truly pampered in style. On your arrival you receive a welcome basket of goodies and we can also arrange a daily breakfast or supper service of locally sourced and home made products.
There are many golf courses in the area. The nearest is Royal Tara which is a 27 hole parkland course. Special discounts on green fees apply if booked through Decoy Country Cottages. In 2011, Killeen Castle will be hosting the Solheim Cup. There is great excitement about this up comiing event and the cottages ore only 15 minutes away.
Decoy Country Cottages are located in the beautiful, historic Boyne Valley. They are ideally located for touring the abundant historic sites in Meath and also the wider area with Dublin only 30 miles away. The famous Hill of Tara, seat of The High Kings of Ireland, is only 2 miles away. Visit Trim Castle and onward to Kells where you can see the famous Book of Kells and don't miss the Brú na Bóinne Complex, Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth. This is a UNESCO world heritage site, older than the pyramids, built by Stone Age men.
