Rahans Lake Lodge is a lakeside 4* star self-catering holiday log cabin approved to Failte Ireland Standards near Carrickmacross in County Monaghan.
This beautiful property is a haven surrounded by nature. It is tastefully furnished and very warm and cosy with central heating throughout. It has 3 bedrooms (1 en suite), each with a double bed to sleep 6 people. The living room and kitchen are open plan with lots of space. There is a large decking area and spacious secluded garden from where to enjoy 'al-fresco' dining in the long Summer evenings.
The Log Cabin sits on the edge of Rahans Lake which covers an area of 30 hectares and depths range from 1m to 6.5m with the deepest area being the central area at the northern end of the lake. There are fishing stands in place and boats can be launched from the slipway. Tench, bream and pike are available on this lake.
There are a number of excellent fishing lakes all within a 5 mile radius. Golfers will enjoy the 18 hole Golf Courses at nearby Nuremore Golf and Country Club and Mannan Castle and there is a good 9 hole at Cabra Castle.
There is an abundance of things to do in the area. Visit the village of Inniskeen, the birthplace of poet Patrick Kavanagh which is only 3 miles away. Stop at the famous Wishing Well at romantic Dunaree Forest Park and explore the beautiful Cooley Mountains and Carlingford Lough. The UNESCO World Heritage site Newgrange is less than an hour away.

The log cabin is located on the banks of Rahans Lake which is located 8km south of Carrickmacross. Access is from the M1 motorway taking Exit 14 to Ardee, then proceeding on the N2 North towards Carrickmacross. After 6 miles take road number L4810 to left and proceed for 4 miles to cabin.Changeover Day: Negotiable
