The House is a beautiful traditional style cottage set on a 35 acre estate.

The 1 bedroomed self catering cottage to sleep 2-4 people is set in an idyllic location surrounded by beautiful farmland and gardens. It has been tastefully decorated throughout, retaining its charming character combined with all the home comforts of modern living. It has central heating, underfloor heating in the bathroom and a solid fuel stove. It overlooks a beautiful Victorian lawn with native and exotic trees to the front, and a cobblestone yard to the back.

The Cottage is located next to our 18th century house, set amid 35 acres of farmland, dotted with ancient trees, shrubberies, and a wide variety of wildlife and domestic animals. The famous River Barrow runs adjacent to the estate, and guests can have access to our boat for fishing or rowing and picnic hampers are available to enjoy on the river bank! There is plenty of good pike, bream and roach to be caught.

Our Guests are welcome to roam around the farm and enjoy the wide variety of wildlife and domestic animals: pheasants, rabbits, hares, hens, ducks, cows, a horse and a donkey.

The House is only 20 minutes walk from the historic town of Athy. There are several important festivals in Athy throughout the year: the Water Festival (May), Gordon Bennett Vintage Motor Rally (June), the Kildare Agricultural Show and Athy Bluegrass Festival (July) and the Ernest Shackleton Autumn School (October). Tuesday is market day in Athy and every Sunday there is also a picturesque Farmers Market in the main town square, with locally grown produce and crafts on sale. There is also a number of quality restaurants in the town, as well as traditional Irish pubs and a good selection of shops.
