Perhaps best known for it's castle, Kinnitty is 13 km east of Birr in County Offaly at the foot of the beautiful Slieve Bloom Mountains.

Kinnitty Castle now offers high quality accommodation. The building as it stands dates from the 17th century but the site has been important from at least as far back as the 6th century. A high Cross from that era now stands in the castle grounds.
