The Rock of Cashel and Cahir and its castle put County Tipperary well and truly on the tourist itinerary. These wonderfully atmospheric sites are world class. Tipperary also has excellent walking trails if you decide to disappear into the broad chequered valley of The Glen of Aherlon or the shapely Slieveamuck Hills. It is the perfect location for an activity holiday and there are good self-catering holiday homes and cottages in Tipperary. It's not such a long way, as the song says, and it is certainly worth it when you get there!
