In the south of County Tipperary, Cahir is a small heritage town known for it's castle which sits on a small island on the River Suir. Also worth a visit is the Swiss Cottage with it's heritage walking trails.

Hikers will also enjoy nearby Glengarra Wood in the Galtee Mountains. There's an 18 hole golf course just outside the town.
