Located on the shores of Lough Derg in County Tipperary and also on the River Shannon, Dromineer is now well known for it's Boat Club and Yacht Club, it's facilities for children, swimming water-skiing and windsurfing.

The harbour is overlooked by the ruins of a medieval castle. The town has good restaurants and pubs.
