Situated in a fertile plain between the Silvermines Mountains and the Arra Mountains in County Tipperary, Nenagh is the main town in the north of the county.

The fine, early 13th century Norman Keep of Nenagh Castle is well preserved and very worthy of a visit. The Nenagh Gold Club has 18 holes.
