Ballymacarbery is an ideal base for visitors to the Comeragh mountains and the Nire Valley . The area has terrain to suit every grade of walker and mountaineer .

The long distance East Munster Way can be picked up at Fourmilewater  a few kilometers to the north of the village. Melody’s Nire Valley Riding Stables arrange treks through some of the most beautiful trails in the area.
