TOWNS AND VILLAGES IN WESTMEATH
Located on the border of Westmeath and Offaly, the village of Horseleap is so named because the Norman Baron, de Lacy, is said to have jumped over the castle drawbridge on his horse while being pursued.
Norman ruins dating from the early twelfth century as well as a well preserved 16th century tower house can still be seen near the village. Known for it's stone artwork, the village and surrounding area make a for a pleasant visit.
